Other stuff: photo albums, mainly non-hockey

The Milton Keynes Jesters is an over-30's, mixed, recreational hockey team registered with the English Ice Hockey Association.  Formed in 1994 following a meeting (in true rec. hockey fashion) in the rink bar and surviving the closure of two rinks in 1996 (BladeRunner and Stevenage) the club is a thriving part of the hockey community in Milton Keynes.

From an initial membership of around 20 in 1994 we've grown to a healthy 40+ members. Our members range from players who first picked up a stick on their 30th birthday (hey, I had to do something different to celebrate!) to Canadians who were born in their skates.   We consider ourselves an improvers hockey club - that is, members must demonstrate a minimum competency in skating and basic hockey skills.  We train and play non-checking hockey with the objective of improving our individual skills and our team play.     The aim of the club is to play hockey for fun - but to recognise that any sport is ALWAYs more fun when you can play competitively and can post a .500 or better season!

The club is run by an elected committee who are ultimately responsible for decisions regarding membership, games, sponsorship, and all on and off ice activities.   Membership is limited by number (in the interests of keeping on-ice numbers to a manageable level) and anyone interested in joining will need to contact the committee.

This web site is intended to summarise and publicise the Jesters' on-ice and off-ice activities, members, sponsors and anything else I can think worth putting up.   I'm happy to put up any information I can get about the club, members, past members, regular guests and stories from non-jesters about our games.
